Warmaliner PIR Insulated Plasterboard

Warmaliner combines PIR insulation and plasterboard in one board, reducing the number of layers needed when lining the inside of an external wall or sloping roof. The plasterboard face is ready for normal jointing or skim finishing, while the PIR backing improves thermal resistance without taking up as much room as mineral wool of the same performance.

It is a practical choice for extensions, loft conversions and solid-wall refurbishments where the internal lining is being replaced anyway. The overall thickness shown in the options includes the 12.5mm plasterboard face, so a 52.5mm board contains 40mm PIR.

Boards can be fixed to suitable masonry with an approved adhesive system and supplementary mechanical fixings, or mechanically fixed to timber or metal framing. Joints, sockets, reveals and perimeter gaps need careful treatment because air leakage around the board reduces the benefit of the insulation.

Installation

Cut boards accurately and keep the insulated layer continuous at corners and reveals. Use the fixing method approved for the substrate. Mechanical restraint is required where specified, including around openings and on ceilings. Seal service penetrations and avoid large adhesive voids behind the board.
