Plan your Tekwarm order
Choose the overall thickness: the listed thickness includes the 12.5mm plasterboard face. Check the PIR thickness in your selected option against your specification.
How many boards? Each 2400mm × 1200mm board covers 2.88m² before cuts and waste. Divide your lining area by 2.88, round up and allow for your cutting layout.
You may also need: drywall scrim tape for board joints, plus the fixing and finishing materials specified for your background. View plasterboard adhesive and confirm suitability for your chosen laminate and application before ordering.

PIR Insulated Plasterboard for Walls, Ceilings and Roofs
Tekwarm PIR Insulated Plasterboard Thermal Laminate is a high-performance insulation board made from PIR insulation bonded to 12.5mm plasterboard. It is designed to improve thermal performance while providing a ready-to-finish internal plasterboard surface.
Each board measures 2400mm x 1200mm and covers 2.88m², making it suitable for internal wall lining, ceilings, pitched roofs, loft conversions and refurbishment projects.
Tekwarm PIR laminate is a practical 2-in-1 drylining solution, helping reduce installation time by combining insulation and plasterboard into one board. It can be used where you need to upgrade the thermal performance of a room while creating a plasterboard face ready for jointing, skimming or decorating.
This product is suitable for internal walls, roof slopes and ceiling upgrades, subject to the correct fixing method and project specification.
Key features
- PIR insulation bonded to 12.5mm plasterboard
- Improves internal thermal performance
- Suitable for walls, ceilings, roofs and drylining projects
- 2400mm x 1200mm board size
- 2.88m² coverage per sheet
- Faster installation than separate insulation and plasterboard layers
- Suitable for mechanical fixing or adhesive drylining, depending on substrate
- Available in multiple overall thicknesses
What is Tekwarm PIR insulated plasterboard used for?
It is used to insulate and dryline internal walls, ceilings and roof areas in one board.
What size is each board?
Each board is 2400mm x 1200mm, covering 2.88m².
What thicknesses are available?
The main options are 37.5mm, 52.5mm, 62.5mm, 72.5mm and 82.5mm.
Is this a soundproofing product?
No. It is primarily a thermal insulation product. It may add some mass to a wall lining, but it should not be sold as a dedicated acoustic board.
Can it be dot and dabbed?
It can be adhesively bonded or mechanically fixed, depending on wall condition and project specification.
Installation
Plan junctions before fitting so the PIR layer continues around corners and into reveals. Fix boards firmly to the substrate or framing, add mechanical restraint where required and seal gaps with compatible insulation foam or cut PIR pieces before finishing the plasterboard face.
Before You Install
· Ordering by insulation thickness when the option is listed by overall thickness.
· Leaving gaps around sockets, reveals and service penetrations.
· Using adhesive alone where mechanical restraint is required.
· Assuming every PIR-backed plasterboard has the same lambda value.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the listed thickness include plasterboard?
Yes. The overall thickness includes the plasterboard face and the insulation backing.
Can it be fixed with adhesive?
Some wall applications permit an approved adhesive system, normally with mechanical restraint. Ceilings and sloping linings require suitable mechanical fixings.
Can I skim it?
Yes. The plasterboard face can be jointed or skimmed in the normal way.
Is it better than separate PIR and plasterboard?
Thermally it can be comparable. The main advantage is a quicker, tidier single-board lining; separate layers can be easier where services or irregular walls need more adjustment.
Can I use it on a damp wall?
The source of damp must be resolved first. Insulated plasterboard should not be used to hide active moisture problems.
