What Counts as Like-for-Like?
The comparison should be for the same product or a genuinely equivalent product: the same brand or specification where relevant, thickness, dimensions, pack or roll size, density or performance grade, quantity and condition.
The competitor must also be able to supply the required quantity within a realistic timeframe and deliver it to your postcode.
We Compare the Delivered Price
A cheaper unit price is not always a cheaper order. We compare product price, VAT basis, delivery, pallet or long-item charges, quantity and availability so both offers are being assessed on the same basis.
Prices we may not be able to match
Examples include pricing errors, auction or private sellers, used or damaged goods, clearance or liquidation stock, voucher- or cashback-only offers, membership-only pricing, unavailable stock, expired quotes and products that are not genuinely like-for-like.
