Acoustic Clips, Channels & Resilient Bars
Clips and channels are used in wall and ceiling soundproofing systems to help reduce vibration transfer between the existing structure and the new plasterboard lining. Instead of fixing plasterboard directly to timber, masonry or metal framing, acoustic clips, resilient bars and furring channels create a separation layer that helps improve the performance of the full soundproofing build-up.
This collection includes acoustic isolation clips, furring channels, resilient bars and ceiling hangers for use in wall and ceiling systems. These products are commonly used with acoustic plasterboard, acoustic mineral wool, acoustic sealant and other soundproofing materials to create a more effective isolated lining.
Acoustic clips such as GenieClip RST and MuteClip systems are typically used where a stronger decoupling method is required. Furring channels are fitted into the clips to create the frame that carries the plasterboard. Resilient bars are a simpler alternative used in many wall and ceiling upgrades, while acoustic ceiling hangers are used with MF suspended ceiling systems below timber joists.
Choosing the correct clip, channel or bar depends on the structure, available space, weight of the board layers, ceiling or wall type, and the level of soundproofing required. Final performance depends on the complete system, including board layers, insulation, sealing, installation quality and any flanking noise paths.
