SPK15 Acoustic Soundboard 1200mm x 800mm x 15mm

The SPK15 Acoustic Soundboard is a high-density acoustic board designed to add mass and stability to wall, floor and ceiling soundproofing systems. It uses a reinforced board casing with a sand-filled core, helping to reduce sound transmission by increasing density and damping vibration within the structure.

At only 15mm thick, SPK15 is a slim but heavy acoustic layer, making it useful where extra soundproofing performance is needed without adding excessive build-up depth. It can be used in domestic and commercial projects, including party walls, timber floors, ceilings, studios, music rooms, media rooms and acoustic enclosures.

SPK15 is most effective when installed as part of a complete soundproofing system, combined with the correct supporting products such as acoustic mineral wool, resilient bars, isolation clips, furring channels, acoustic sealant and suitable plasterboard layers.

Key Benefits

  • High-density acoustic layer — adds mass to help reduce airborne sound transfer.
  • Sand-filled core — helps damp vibration and improve low-frequency noise control.
  • Slim 15mm profile — useful where space is limited.
  • Suitable for walls, floors and ceilings — can be used in a wide range of soundproofing build-ups.
  • Rigid board format — easier to handle and install than loose-fill materials.
  • Natural mass layer — made using a reinforced board casing with a dense sand core.

How It Works

Soundproofing relies heavily on mass, damping and correct installation. The dense sand core inside SPK15 helps increase the weight of the structure and disrupt sound energy as it passes through the board. This makes it particularly useful in systems designed to reduce airborne noise such as voices, TV, music and general household noise.

For best results, SPK15 should be installed as part of a full acoustic build-up. Final performance will depend on the existing wall, floor or ceiling structure, the supporting materials used, installation quality, sealing, and any flanking noise paths.
