Recticel Eurothane PL Insulated Plasterboard
Recticel Eurothane PL Insulated Plasterboard
Recticel Eurothane PL is a PIR-backed plasterboard for internal wall and roof insulation. It gives the installer one board to fix, align and finish instead of fitting rigid insulation and plasterboard separately.
The PIR core keeps the thermal lining relatively slim and the tapered-edge plasterboard face can be jointed or skimmed. It is commonly used for solid-wall upgrades, extensions, dormers and rooms formed within a pitched roof.
Overall thickness includes both layers. Check the board option carefully when matching a drawing or replacing another brand, because manufacturers may describe the same insulation depth by the total laminate thickness.
Why Choose This Product?
Choose this when you want insulation and a plasterboard lining in one board. It saves a separate boarding stage and keeps the internal build-up neater than fixing rigid insulation and plasterboard independently.
Key Features
· PIR insulation bonded to plasterboard
· Internal thermal lining board
· Compact alternative to separate insulation and plasterboard
· Straightforward finishing face
· Multiple insulation depths
Common Uses
· Solid masonry walls lined internally
· Pitched roof rooms
· Dormer walls and ceilings
· Framed wall linings
Installation
Keep the PIR backing continuous and cut tightly around openings. Use the manufacturer-approved fixing method for the wall or frame. Seal edges and penetrations before jointing the plasterboard face, and include mechanical fixings wherever the application requires them.
Before You Install
· Ordering by insulation thickness when the option is listed by overall thickness.
· Leaving gaps around sockets, reveals and service penetrations.
· Using adhesive alone where mechanical restraint is required.
· Assuming every PIR-backed plasterboard has the same lambda value.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the listed thickness include plasterboard?
Yes. The overall thickness includes the plasterboard face and the insulation backing.
Can it be fixed with adhesive?
Some wall applications permit an approved adhesive system, normally with mechanical restraint. Ceilings and sloping linings require suitable mechanical fixings.
Can I skim it?
Yes. The plasterboard face can be jointed or skimmed in the normal way.
Is it better than separate PIR and plasterboard?
Thermally it can be comparable. The main advantage is a quicker, tidier single-board lining; separate layers can be easier where services or irregular walls need more adjustment.
Can I use it on a damp wall?
The source of damp must be resolved first. Insulated plasterboard should not be used to hide active moisture problems.
