Rockfloor Acoustic & Thermal Slab 50mm is a high-density stone wool floor insulation slab designed for acoustic and thermal performance in robust floor constructions. It is suitable for floating floors, concrete floors, timber floors, separating floors and screeded systems where greater insulation depth is required.
The dense stone wool construction helps absorb vibration and impact noise within the floor build-up, while also improving thermal performance. The 50mm thickness provides a deeper acoustic and thermal layer than the 25mm and 30mm options, making it suitable for projects where performance is a higher priority and the floor build-up can accommodate the additional depth.
This product is commonly used below flooring grade chipboard in dry floating floors or below suitable screed in wet floor systems.

Installation Notes
The subfloor should be clean, level, dry and structurally sound before installation. Lay slabs tightly together with staggered joints where possible. Use suitable perimeter isolation around room edges to reduce flanking sound transfer and allow separation between the floating floor layer and surrounding walls. Where used on ground floors or damp substrates, install a suitable damp proof membrane in accordance with the project specification.
Final acoustic performance will depend on the complete floor build-up, including the existing structure, slab thickness, surface layer, perimeter detailing, sealing and installation quality.
