SRS Maxideck Acoustic Flooring Board 1200mm x 600mm x 28mm

SRS Maxideck is a high-performance acoustic flooring board designed to reduce sound transmission through timber joisted floor and ceiling constructions. It is used as an acoustic overlay system to help improve airborne sound insulation from noise such as voices, TV, music and general household sound transfer.

At only 28mm thick, Maxideck provides a heavy, slim acoustic floor layer with minimal increase in floor height. It is suitable for refurbishment, conversion and new-build projects, including domestic, commercial and industrial environments.

Maxideck can be installed beneath a wide range of floor finishes and is commonly used as part of separating floor constructions where improved acoustic performance is required.

Typical Applications

SRS Maxideck is suitable for use in acoustic floor systems where additional mass and acoustic separation are required above an existing timber floor deck. It can be used in:

  • Separating floors between flats
  • House conversions
  • Refurbishment projects
  • Domestic floor soundproofing
  • Commercial and industrial spaces
  • Timber joisted floor upgrades
  • Projects requiring a slim acoustic floor build-up

Installation Overview

The existing floor surface should be clean, dry, level and free from debris before installation. Any gaps between existing floorboards should be filled with a suitable flexible acoustic sealant before Maxideck is laid.

Install Maxideck in a brick-bond pattern with the felt layer facing down. Board joints should be glued using a suitable joint adhesive such as SRS Gripfix and fixed with 20mm x 3.5mm countersinking screws. Do not use screws longer than 20mm, as fixings must not penetrate through the felt layer.

Perimeter isolation is important. Maxideck edging strip should be used around the edges of the room to maintain separation from skirting boards and walls, helping reduce flanking sound transfer.

Important Notes

Maxideck is a heavy acoustic board and should be handled carefully during lifting and installation.

Final acoustic performance depends on the full floor and ceiling construction, including the existing structure, ceiling treatment below, mineral wool between joists, perimeter detailing, sealing, workmanship and any flanking noise paths.

For best results, Maxideck should be installed as part of a complete acoustic floor system rather than treated as a standalone soundproofing product.
