Isomass Monodeck Acoustic Floor Boards

Isomass Monodeck acoustic floor boards are designed for timber floor soundproofing systems where you need to improve acoustic performance without completely rebuilding the floor structure. The boards combine a resilient acoustic layer with a strong deck board, helping reduce direct vibration transfer through the floor when installed as part of a complete acoustic floor build-up.

The Monodeck range includes overlay boards for use over existing timber floorboards, as well as direct-to-joist boards for projects where the original floorboards have been removed. This makes Monodeck suitable for refurbishments, flat upgrades, timber floor improvements, conversions, studios, home offices and general domestic soundproofing work.

Monodeck boards are not a complete soundproofing system on their own. For the best result, they should be used with the correct supporting products, including acoustic mineral wool between joists, perimeter flanking strips, suitable adhesive, acoustic sealant and the correct floor or ceiling treatment for the project.

Available Options

Monodeck 17T — 1200mm x 600mm x 17mm
A low-build acoustic overlay board for use over suitable existing floorboards or timber decks.

Monodeck 26T — 2400mm x 600mm x 26mm
An acoustic overlay board for timber floors where a stronger acoustic deck is required over the existing floor.

Monodeck 30T — 2400mm x 600mm x 30mm
A heavier acoustic overlay board for timber floor upgrades where additional board depth and mass are required.

Monodeck 32T — 2400mm x 600mm x 32mm
A direct-to-joist acoustic floor board for projects where the existing floorboards have been removed.

Monodeck 37T — 2400mm x 600mm x 37mm
A higher-build direct-to-joist acoustic floor board for timber floor systems requiring a more robust acoustic deck.

Key Benefits

Acoustic floor boards for timber floor soundproofing systems.

Helps reduce direct vibration transfer through timber floor structures.

Suitable for airborne and impact noise improvement when used in the correct build-up.

Available in overlay and direct-to-joist options.

Useful for refurbishments, conversions and flat upgrades.

Can be used over existing floorboards or directly onto joists, depending on the board type.

Suitable for use with acoustic mineral wool between joists.

Works with perimeter flanking strips and acoustic sealant to help reduce sound leakage.

Suitable for domestic and commercial acoustic flooring projects.

Overlay Boards vs Direct-to-Joist Boards

Monodeck 17T, 26T and 30T are overlay boards. These are normally installed over suitable existing floorboards or timber decks. They are a good option where the original floor remains in place and you want to add an acoustic layer over the top.

Monodeck 32T and 37T are direct-to-joist boards. These are used where the existing floorboards have been removed and the new acoustic deck is installed directly onto the timber joists.

Make sure you choose the correct board type for your floor build-up before ordering.

Recommended System Products

For a proper acoustic floor installation, Monodeck is normally used with other soundproofing materials. We also supply the key system products needed to complete the build-up, including:

Acoustic mineral wool for between timber joists.

Isocheck flanking strips and perimeter isolation strips.

Isocheck universal angled flanking band.

Isocheck D3 adhesive for board joints where required.

Acoustic sealant for edges, gaps and service penetrations.

Impact mats and acoustic underlays.

Ceiling soundproofing products for treating the ceiling below.

Acoustic plasterboard, resilient bars, clips and channels for full floor and ceiling systems.

Using the correct supporting products is important. Gaps, rigid contact at the room edges, poorly sealed penetrations or missing insulation can reduce the performance of the full system.

Typical Uses

Isomass Monodeck acoustic floor boards are commonly used for timber floor soundproofing, flats and apartment floor upgrades, separating floor improvements, refurbishment projects, loft conversions, change-of-use projects, studio floors, media rooms, home offices and domestic noise reduction projects.

They can be used as part of acoustic flooring systems over existing timber decks or as direct-to-joist acoustic floor boards, depending on the Monodeck board selected.

Installation Notes

The existing floor or joist structure should be dry, level, stable and securely fixed before installation. Loose boards, raised fixings, gaps, damaged sections and service penetrations should be dealt with before the Monodeck boards are installed.

Boards should be laid in accordance with the correct Monodeck system guidance. Joints should be staggered where required, and board joints should be glued using the correct adhesive where specified.

Avoid mechanical fixings through the acoustic deck unless the system specifically requires them, as rigid fixings can reduce the isolation benefit.

A suitable flanking strip or perimeter isolation strip should be fitted around the room edges so the acoustic floor layer does not make rigid contact with surrounding walls, skirting boards, pipes or structural elements.

Gaps, edges and service penetrations should be sealed carefully with acoustic sealant.

For best results, install acoustic mineral wool between the timber joists and consider the ceiling construction below. In many projects, the floor and ceiling need to be treated together to achieve the best improvement.

Important Information

Monodeck boards are acoustic floor system components and should not be treated as a guaranteed standalone soundproofing solution. Final performance depends on the complete floor and ceiling build-up, the existing structure, joist condition, ceiling treatment below, insulation, perimeter isolation, sealing, workmanship and any flanking noise paths.

If you are unsure which Monodeck board or supporting products you need, contact us before ordering and we can help you choose the right build-up.
