Isomass Isocheck Acoustic Shallow Batten 45/50

Isomass Isocheck Acoustic Shallow Batten is a resilient acoustic batten system used in floating floor constructions over level concrete floors. It is designed to create a separated floor layer between the concrete sub-floor and the chipboard deck above, helping reduce vibration transfer through the floor structure when installed as part of a complete acoustic floor system.

The batten is made from a softwood timber batten bonded to an ACF acoustic resilient layer. This creates a low-profile support system for floating chipboard floors while adding acoustic separation beneath the floor deck.

The Isocheck Shallow Batten range is commonly used in new build projects, refurbishments, conversions, flats, apartments and concrete floor soundproofing upgrades where floor height needs to be kept relatively low.

Isomass Isocheck Acoustic Shallow Batten is commonly used for concrete floor soundproofing, floating floor constructions, flat and apartment upgrades, domestic floor soundproofing, conversions, refurbishment work and projects where an acoustic floor layer is required above a concrete sub-floor.

It is often used where a floating chipboard deck is being installed above a concrete floor and a resilient break is needed between the sub-floor and the walking surface.

Using the correct supporting products is important. Rigid contact at the perimeter, unsealed gaps, poor board jointing or missing flanking treatment can reduce the performance of the full system.

Installation Notes

The concrete sub-floor should be clean, dry, level and suitable before installation. Any loose material, high spots, major dips or surface defects should be dealt with before the battens are laid.

Install the battens in accordance with Isomass guidance and the project specification. The chipboard deck should be installed over the battens using suitable board joint adhesive where required.

A suitable acoustic flanking band or perimeter isolation strip should be fitted around the room edges so the floating floor deck does not make rigid contact with surrounding walls, skirting boards, pipes or structural elements.

Gaps, edges and penetrations should be sealed carefully to reduce sound leakage and flanking paths.

Isocheck Shallow Batten is an acoustic floor system component and should not be treated as a complete soundproofing solution on its own. Final performance depends on the full floor and ceiling construction, the existing structure, installation quality, board layers, perimeter isolation, sealing and any flanking noise paths.
