Rockwool RW3 Acoustic Mineral Wool Slab — 60kg/m³

Rockwool RW3 is a high-density acoustic mineral wool slab used to improve sound insulation, thermal performance and fire resistance in walls, floors, ceilings and general building cavities. With a density of 60kg/m³, RW3 is a strong choice where you need a firmer, denser insulation slab than standard loft roll or lightweight partition insulation.

It is commonly used inside stud walls, ceiling voids, floor joists, acoustic panels, service voids and soundproofing build-ups where cavity resonance needs to be reduced. RW3 does not work as a complete soundproofing system on its own, but it plays an important role when combined with acoustic plasterboard, resilient bars, acoustic clips, membranes, sealant and other mass/isolation products.

Why use Rockwool RW3?

RW3 helps absorb sound energy inside cavities, reducing the hollow, drum-like effect that can make walls, floors and ceilings transmit noise more easily. It is especially useful in acoustic wall linings, timber or metal stud partitions, suspended ceilings, floor build-ups and room upgrade projects where airborne noise control is required.

Important soundproofing note

In wall and ceiling projects, this may include acoustic plasterboard, resilient bars, acoustic clips, dense boards, acoustic membranes and perimeter sealant.
